MY MY MY MY SHARONA!!! Sharona is our first Morab foal born at
Bunker Hill Stables. She is solid black, and what can I say, I am partial to black, and SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!. She
is a 50/50 PUREBRED MORAB registered with the PMHA. Her bloodlines are impressive on both
the Arabian and Morgan sides. "UVM GATES" AMHA 12603 on the Morgan side; "ANSATA IBN HALIMA AHR 15897, FA-SERR
AHR 4462,*BASK++ AHR 25460, RU EGYPTIAN NIGHT AHR 100675 on the Arabian side, just to name a few.
Sharona has a
lovely conformation, awesome disposition, and just loves THINGS. Anything she can play with, lick, pick up, carry around
just thrills her to death. She has been lightly started under saddle, and seemed grateful for the opportunity.
The first time a saddle was put on her back, she had to walk around to show all her horsey friends her new thing
she was wearing.
Sharona is a very young mother, and her 2007 foal was not planned. While I was away
for a few days(leaving hubby to watch over the herd), Sharona's mother Mindy(DTD Falcons Midnight Star) decided it was time
to make another foal. She successfully broke through the fence to get to our Stallion "Khemo Shalohm".
Mindy and Sharona are quite close, and as the saying goes "MONKEY SEE, MONKEY DO", Sharona, the silly little teenager
she was, decided to follow in moms footsteps, and make a foal herself.
As fate would have it Sharona was
successful, as you can see by her foal "Khemos Bask UVM Gates" who is at her side in her photo's. We did have
our concerns, and asked our Vet if her pregnancey should be termnated as she was so young. However, he said "You
can, but why would you? She is a nice size, healthy, and in good shape. It was a little scary, but we decided
to listen to our Vet, and pleasingly so. We now have a beautiful little Stud Colt who thinks he is "All that and
a Bag of Chips".
As a very young maiden mare, Sharona couldn't have done better giving birth.
It was textbook, and she has taken her role in motherhood lovingly, and very seriously.
Sharona's April 2007 foal
"Khemos Bask UVM Gates (Kaagee), was imprinted at birth. He is halter trained, and is a little lovebug attention
hog. He is 3/4 Arabian, 1/4 Morgan. He is registered with the AHR as a Half-Arab, and is ARABIAN HORSE ASSOSIATION
BREEDERS SWEEPSTAKES AND HALTER FUTURITIES NOMINATED. Both Sharona & Kaagee are with there new owners.

Kayla's mother "Sady Lady", a Hackney X, came to us as
a rescue pony. I cried when I saw her. She was sooooo skinny, tense, and jumpy. The epitomy of neglect and
abuse. As I looked Sady Lady over, I noticed that her belly
was quite large. I asked the animal control officer if she was pregnant. I was told that she was bloated due to
worms, and had been treated for them by the State Vet. However, the more I inspected her, the more I discovered that
there were signs of her being pregnant, and pretty far along. We had our Vet come and check Sady Lady, and sure enough she
was pregnant, not only that, but she was going to foal in about three to four weeks. I was anxiously awaiting this
birth (as all expectant horse lovers do when there is a foal on the way). I wanted so much to see the birth. I
spent many hours out in the barn, waiting and watching, with no sign of the foal. I began to get pretty tired
(I'm sure most can appreciate this). Not wanting to miss the blessed event, I decided I was going to bring Sady Lady
in to our house. This couldn't have happened if hubby was home, but he was on a business trip (ha ha). So I brought
Sady Lady into our summer kitchen area in the back of the house. I gave her a nice thick quilt, set her up with food
and water, and started coaxing her :) to lay down and birth her foal. Of course, she didn't accomodate me. What
she did accomodate me with is all the stuff horses make for us (if you know what I mean). After a couple of days
I brought Sady Lady back out to her stall, had to, hubby was coming home. Well wouldn't you know it. The next morning I went out to feed everyone, and standing there, right in front
of my very own tearful eyes, was our newborn Kayla. I looked
at her, and not knowing who the sire was, I thought she might have been part donkey, she resembled one. She had big
ears, and the colors and markings that resembled one. I was waiting for this cute little thing to go "HEE HAW",
then lo and behold, she let out her first little whinney. Kayla
matured to be a gorgeous bay, with beautiful black points, luscious thick tail, double mane, excellent conformation, and a
lovable sweet disposition to boot. Kayla
was our very first foal born here at Bunker Hill Stables, and had presented us with her first foal on April 19, 2008
"Khemos Lil' Peach". She is a Bright Chestnut and looks a lot like her Sire "Khemo Shalohm".Peach
is registered as a Half-Arab with the AHR, and is AHA Breeders Sweepstakes and Halter Futurities Nominated. Peach is
confident, friendly, with gated forward movement. Peach is now owned by our Farrier Amy
Lunt. You can also view photos of her "CLICK HERE" to see photos of Peach on our "Foals Available For Sale Page". Though Kayla has been sold, she holds a special place in our hearts as our first foal ever born at
Bunker Hill Stables, Inc..
